Caroline is an IoLET DipTrans qualified translator and member of the Society of Authors Translators Association. She has translated the marketing copy from French and Spanish into English for some of the biggest names in the fashion and luxury goods sector, and has made her name in this competitive industry by going the extra mile with every commission she receives. Says Caroline, "There is no such thing as an average translation, so there should be no such thing as an average translator. Not only do we need specialist linguistic knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the sectors we work in, we also need to be able to do the jobs of copywriters, with all the sensitivity, cultural awareness and flair that entails." UK born, but now proudly South Aussie, this year Caroline launched the project Vinspeak, a translation, interpreting and language training service catering exclusively to the Wine and Spirits sector. She also writes for the translation blog, Get the Gloss, her own Vinspeak blog, and for the ITI Bulletin, the translation journal of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Her second full-length work in translation is being published by Karnac this year.
